  For my whole life, I have wanted to be someone who could make a difference in not just one child’s life, but a lot of children’s lives. I want to help them overcome obstacles and face their fears. I want to guide students and help them make tough decisions. I want to be there when they are confused and need help. What do I want to be? I want to be a teacher and change the aspect of school in kids’ eyes.

  It takes quite a bit of education to become an educator. Education requirements vary from place to place but they are generally the same. Someone who wants to be a teacher has to have at least a bachelor’s degree in an approved teacher training program. Also, they must take courses in the subject they want to teach. They have to take and pass an exam as well as receive certification as a teacher. It is mandatory that a trainee spends several months as a student teacher under the supervision of an experienced teacher. It is necessary that they attend education conferences and summer workshops to get further training. A college a teacher-to-be can attend could be***************.

  There are many skills someone needs to have in order to become a teacher. Some abilities needed to be a teacher include being patient and corporative. These are very important because teachers need to be patient with students or they should not be a teacher. They have to be able to plan and arrange assignments, evaluate students, and be very helpful. Some skills most people need to improve on are being able to be honest with grading, clarity and to not be shy.

  Teachers have many responsibilities. Some responsibilities include being able to guide, help, and work with kids. This job can be challenging depending on the location of the school and having to deal with school as well as home problems. Teachers need to be able to evaluate student work honestly. Some working conditions are that teachers need to be present for classes, usually twelve to sixteen hours a week. Most states require schools to be in session for a minimum number of days, usually in a ten month schedule with a two month vacation.

  The average teacher is paid just about over $42,000 a year, according to. Pay depends on educational level, experience, and the school, the district and the state. The cost of living in certain areas heavily influences the amount of money. Benefits depend on the school but healthcare is usually included. Some pros of teaching are being able to work with great kids, the ability to be a role model, being able to fix whatever got ruined the day before, having most of the summer is free of work, and good benefits. Some cons of teacher are the environment in which the school is, and dealing with parents.

  Demands for being a teacher are that there’s always going to be a need for new teachers. According to, there’s been an increased demand for secondary teachers. There has also been shortages of teachers may occur in urban and rural schools. There is a request for more male teachers everywhere. Demands will increase in the future.

  I want to be a teacher and change the aspect of school in kids’ eyes. I want this job because I want to help, guide, and teach kids. I want to make a difference in the boring meaning of teaching. I learned that it takes a lot to be a teacher. I will need to go to school for about four years and there is going to be an increase in need for teachers in urban areas, where I would like to teach. After doing this research, I learned that I really want to become a teacher and someday will.

  Stars: Could be filled in with something like: “the springboard that nurtures, propels and inspires an educator to become the one teacher that when a child looks back on his school days, they say “I wouldn’t be in this position without the inspiration and drive this teacher inspired in me.” I want to be this educator. This inspiration. This springboard for my students.
  Last paragraph: I would change the first sentence to: “and make the experience of an education a totally positive one for each and every student that attends my classroom. When my students are asked, “Do you like school?”, I want their answer to be “I love it!” When asked “Are you learning anything?, I want their answer to be, “I don’t memorize my teacher’s lessons. We learn a subject from the inside out. We touch it, feel it, smell it, hear it, taste it and experience it.
