It doesn’t take education to detail a car.
justt the gumption to do the job right the first time.

If you want to start your own shop, try making it a mobile detailing. it’s cheaper and easier to start. If you drive to the cars you can charge more and get more business.

You dont have to go to college I didnt. But practice makes perfect. I started with it real young in my parents back yard with our and our friends cars. After high school. I applied at Auto Detail Shops , Car Washes, And Dealerships. Its not the highest paying career but its fun. U got to have a good eye to make every car no matter how Nice or crapppy it us the best looking as possilbe even if the car isnt worth it.

One of the best parts of getting to be a detailer is u get to test drive nearly every car on the market. Meaning when u get to move them around the shop yard or delivering them. An Important part of Job security is learn to buff cars.

Like I said its not a top paying Job. Especally in the midwest wintry regions where I am. I tend to perfer the Dealerships with benefits if they have good management above me. But the biggest money is after being fully trained to start your own. I am not sure if their are actuall college classes or being ASE certified. Im not. Coastal and warmer regions pay much better..

    Best of luck
