career education training

I need help with these questions.

How much does a psychologist earn a day/week/month?
How much education and training will I need?
What are the benifits of this job?
What is the work environment?
What skills and abilities will I need?
What is the career outlook?

Please help if you can and don’t say to google it because I have tried and it hasn’t worked very well. Thanks a lot.
Also the yearly salary too please!

Earn $80-$150 per hour depending on where you work…you can have a private practice…work in a school or coporate envionment or for the city or state…you can do it in 6 years…usually about 8 though. There’s a definate need for mental health professionals. Aslo depending on the state in which you reside…you should become licensed. Good money for making a positive difference in the lives of others. You need to have patience and be a good listener. Compassion is a must.

I am a therapist. I have seven years of schooling but not enough to be a psychologist. To be a psychologist it would take seven or eight years. It is a good profession. The pay is usually $110 for a 45 minute session with a client. That’s an average charge. As a psychologist you see patient in a therapeutic setting but you cannot prescribe medication because you need medical schooling for that. When you first start out as a psychologist the best position to get would be at the local hospital. Because they have great benefits and you are just starting out. Eventually what most do is open their own practice. Having your own practice is nice but then you have to hire employees because if you take insurance you need a staff person to handle all the billing. I have a friend who is a psychiatrist, she also has a medical degree so she prescribes meds. She has her practice out of her house and she does not take insurance for the same point, she does not want to have any staff. Here’s a tip, if you wanted your own practice you could hire a nurse practioner who can prescribe medications. That way you can work with clients in that capacity. The job outlook is very good. There is always a need for therapists and psychologists. Another way to go would be to get your LCSW which is a licensed clinical social worker. They make great salaries and it is only five years of school.
